Veterinary Laser Surgery
Laser Surgery for Dogs and Cats
We are proud to provide laser surgery at Randhurst Animal Hospital. LASER stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. The laser is a device that produces highly concentrated light rays that vaporizes and cuts the tissue. The lack of a physical incision greatly reduces the swelling and bleeding that occurs during surgery, and results in a drastic reduction in pain and discomfort.
Laser surgery has very favorable results for pets that undergo a surgery using laser technology. Dr. Kumar has performed hundreds of surgeries with the CO2 laser and has seen the benefits of its use. With laser surgery, your pet will experience much less post-operative pain, bleeding, swelling, discomfort, and decreased risk of infection. Because of these benefits, your pet will experience a faster recovery after laser surgery compared to traditional surgery with a scalpel.
