Feline Wellness

Wellness Care for Cats

The feline wellness care programs at Randhurst Animal Hospital are designed to keep your cat healthy through quality preventative veterinary care. Preventative care is an essential part of your pet’s health and wellness, and our comprehensive wellness exams are designed to meet your pet’s specific needs and lifestyle.

Comprehensive Feline Wellness Exams

During the wellness exam we will review your cat’s medical history and perform a thorough physical examination. Our veterinarians will examine your pet for signs of pain or illness to screen for any underlying conditions. In addition to our wellness exams, we find annual blood work to be a very useful tool in disease prevention and early detection.

Tailored Vaccinations

Vaccinations are a vital part of keeping your cat healthy and prevent potentially serious diseases. Every cat has a different lifestyle and needs to be given individual attention and consideration at vaccination time. At Randhurst Animal Hospital, our feline vaccination programs are specially tailored for every cat based on their age, health, and lifestyle.

Dental Evaluation

Regular preventive dental care keeps your cat’s teeth and gums healthy and free of oral disease. We recommend regular professional dental cleanings, as well as frequent at-home care to keep your cat’s teeth and gums healthy. We will inspect your cat’s teeth and gums for tartar, plaque, tooth decay, infections, and signs of tooth weakness.

Nutrition & Weight Management

Your cat’s diet and weight are an important component of maintaining good health. During the exam, our veterinarians will review your cat’s diet to make sure they are getting the right amount of vitamins and nutrients. We will also review your pet’s play and exercise routine to ensure that your cat is getting an adequate amount of physical activity.

Preparing for the Exam

On the day of your pet’s appointment, we ask that you arrive with your cat in a secure carrier, along with a recent stool sample (ideally less than 12 hours old).

If you have any questions or if you would like to schedule an annual wellness exam for your cat, please call our office at 847-398-5800.
