Dr. Tiffany Leach, DVM, DACVIM is a board certified veterinary medical oncologist. She graduated and received her doctorate of veterinary medicine from Kansas State University Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital in 2007. She then completed an internship with VCA in 2008. She completed a 3 year residency from 2008-2011 in oncology at Purdue University Veterinary Teaching Hospital and has been in private practice since this time. Throughout her residency training, she also enjoyed working emergency, which helped to broaden her knowledge base.
She is a member of the Veterinary Cancer Society, American Veterinary Medical Association, Chicago Veterinary Medical Association, Kansas State University Veterinary Medical Alumni Association lifetime member, and a diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. She has USDA Accreditation in the states of Illinois and Kansas. She was awarded the Katie McCallister Compassion Award on April 18, 2011.
She appreciates all aspects of veterinary oncology, but truly values the close relationships she develops with her patients and their owners. She feels that the most important aspect of any treatment protocol is that the patient either maintains or ideally has an improved quality of life with their particular regimen. One of her early interests and publications was the use of metronomic low-dose protocols to help slow down cancer progression in patients that may not tolerate high-dose regimens or in cases where high-dose chemotherapy was not a feasible option.
She enjoys spending time with her Irish Wolfhounds, Emmet and Ronan. She has also found volunteering in pet therapy programs at hospitals and assisted living facilities very rewarding. She enjoys exploring the city with her friends/family and caring for various plants, as well as her Oscar fish, Ringo and George.
Dr. Cristin Cruikshank, DVM, joined the Randhurst team part-time in January of 2017. She received her doctorate of veterinary medicine from the University of Minnesota in 2016.
Dr. C is also a graduate of biomedical engineering at Marquette University. She worked testing products for medical device companies prior to entering veterinary school. Becoming a veterinarian fulfilled a childhood dream, and she now enjoys combining her strong problem solving skills with her passion for animals to serve both four-legged and human members of the community.
Dr. C has a strong interest in diagnostic imaging and utilizing its tools, such as x-ray and ultrasound, to non-invasively help companion animals. She is a society member of the American College of Veterinary Radiology, American Veterinary Medical Association, Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association, Chicago Veterinary Medical Association, and University of Minnesota Alumni Association.
Cristin enjoys traveling to spend time with family and friends. She is most at home wherever her husband, daughter, three cats (Oreo, Honey, and Sugar), and Golden Retriever (Luna) reside. Having grown-up in southwest Michigan, she looks forward to re-exploring the Chicagoland area and the many shores of the Great Lakes region.
